I first met chef Jan at Leake Street Tunnel last year whilst shooting some images for a client; I knew then I wanted to get him in front of the camera, he has a dark, distinctive and intense look about him which intrigued me. I wanted to capture the essence of this 28 year old six foot Praguer but wasn't quite sure what to do with him. In hindsight the answer was staring me right in the face all along.
Low-key photography isn't the easiest thing to get right, and I'm in no way suggesting that I have done it justice here, but Jan certainly stepped up to the plate doing his part and proving to be the perfect guy for the job. Our session was split in two parts; outdoors and in, both shot at my good friend Izrah's house (with the biggest inner city garden you've seen).
Now you know George Dyer can't resist playing with his images..
Here's a few abstract shots of Jan.
