Stamp 3 - Royal Male (2022)

Royal Male forms part of a trilogy entitled KINGS, this section features a series of stamps on which the monarch's figure is replaced with that of a young black male adorned with a crown.

The work is inspired by American visual artist Kehinde Wiley whose paintings "quote historical sources and position young black men within the field of power."

The project speaks to the societal denial of recognition of value, whilst sparking a narrative of empowerment.
