This series of collages discusses the blurring of black bodies into one without regards to individuality. The phrase “you fit the description” was often used by the UK police in 70’s Britain whilst apprehending disproportionate numbers of black men under the powers of the newly introduced sus laws.

The faces, drawn from numerous sources, are denied ownership by any one individual just as we were (and still are) denied our personalities through the abuse of this divisive law. By adopting this approach, I seek to question how we are perceived, not only by the police but society as a whole.
